Keeping homes safe during rainy season

The rainy season may mean cooler days but it also brings thunderstorms, floods, and strong winds that can cause accidents or lead to calamities.

Solane, the country’s leading LPG solutions provider, tries to help its clients remain safe and secure by reinforcing its Dapat Lang advocacy campaign, which emphasizes the importance of doing the right thing for the family, for others, and society as a whole. Solane suggests precautionary steps families can take to protect lives and properties during inclement weather:

Be informed and stay alert. Be informed to avoid flashfloods, lightning and other dangerous conditions during the rainy season. Monitor your surroundings and keep track of the weather forecast through the internet, TV, or radio.

Prepare a disaster kit. Pack a disaster kit to sustain the family in the event of severe weather conditions. Kit should have essential items that will last for at least three days like potable water, first aid kit, medicines, food that doesn’t require cooking or refrigeration, portable and battery-operated radio, flashlights, and extra batteries.

Safety during lightning. Stay indoors during thunderstorms. Unplug electronic devices, including TV, computers, home entertainment systems, and corded phones inside the homes as they may cause electrocution or fires.

Be prepared to evacuate. Discuss evacuation plans with family and specify a meeting place when separated. Set the safe places to go to during strong rains and flood. Know the alternative routes to take to avoid flooded areas.

With proper and careful preparation, you and your family can avoid the dangers of the rainy season.

Safeguard and the Pambansang Bae team up to remind Filipino to wash their hands

In this year’s Global Handwashing Day celebration, Safeguard has partnered with one of the most prominent personalities in the country today to bring attention to the importance of proper and habitual handwashing. The nation’s leading soap together with the “Pambasang Bae” Alden Richards join forces to educate Filipinos on the importance of handwashing through the power of a song.

Alden himself sang the handwashing song and invites every Filipino to make it a habit to unfailingly wash their hands with Safeguard in these 5 “hugas non-negotiables” -- before “mano”, after using the toilet, before eating, after playing and before bonding. And more importantly, to spread the love and not the germs this holiday season.

If you’ve ever wondered the kind of impact personal hygiene really makes on the spread of germs and general health of the public, consider these sobering statistics gathered from the first Philippines Handwashing Index, a breakthrough study recently commissioned by the nation’s leading soap brand, Safeguard.

It has been discovered that Filipinos touch more than 23 other people per day, summing up to more than 90 ‘touches’ a day on average. However, they wash our hands only 5 times a day! There are other shocking findings that show opportunities for improvement on handwashing habits particular on specific occasions:
After using the toilet:

7 out of 10 Filipinos CLAIM to wash their hands after using the toilet but—ONLY 2 out of 10 really do.
A shocking 64% of Filipinas DO NOT wash their hands at all after using a mall toilet.

Before eating and cooking
It was observed that 60% of females washed their hands with water ONLY before cooking.
Before feeding the kids, 40% washed their hands with water ONLY.

Before and after bonding:
o 80% of Filipinos DO NOT wash their hands after shaking hands with another person
o 40% of Filipinos DO NOT wash their hands before touching young children

After playing or travelling
o 49% DO NOT wash their hands after using their mobile phones
o 50% DO NOT wash their hands after traveling on public transportation

If these statistics seem particularly innocuous, keep in mind that one of the fastest ways to spread germs and diseases is by human contact and ingesting contaminated food. Clearly, Filipinos haven’t nurtured the habit of proper hand washing, and based on statistics, a great number do not care. There’s a great opportunity to educate citizens that washing hands with soap can effectively remove disease-causing germs and is the most basic way to prevent oneself from getting sick.

Did you know that 1.5 million children around the world die every year due to diarrhea? As shocking as it may seem, diarrhea is the second most common cause of death among kids. UNICEF has declared that pneumonia takes the lives 1.8 million children globally each year. Furthermore, in a study done by DOH locally, it has been found out that pneumonia is the number one cause of death among Filipino children of age 1-14 years. Believe it or not, the simple habit of proper handwashing with an anti-bacterial soap can be an effective way of reducing these incidents.

Bawat hugas, dapat Safeguard hugas

With the arrival of the ber months, these facts will become even more worrisome. The holidays mean more frequent gatherings with friends and family—and with it, the chances of you spreading germs to others increase.

“The results of the Philippine Handwashing Index indicate that Filipinos clearly haven’t nurtured the habit of proper handwashing. Which is why, Safeguard continues to take active steps to spread awareness on its relevance specifically through the Global Handwashing Day and through the new handwashing song with Alden Richards,” explains Jia Salindong- Du, Safeguard Philippines Brand Manager.

Ultimately, this is a call for every Filipino to do their part in promoting handwashing to keep everyone healthy and protected from germs throughout this season. Make it a habit to wash your hands with Safeguard in these 5 “hugas non-negotiables” -- before “mano”, after using the toilet, before eating, after playing and before bonding.

Filinvest City takes the LEED and goes for gold

Filinvest City has embodied the principles of smart growth with walkable streets and an inviting mix of trees and development to foster a sense of community for over twenty years.

In its bid to further cement its enviable position as a true model green CBD, Filinvest City in Alabang has recently registered with the United States Green Building Council’s (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design or LEED rating system, aiming for the prestigious Gold Certification. Filinvest City has engaged Barone International, a Philippine-based sustainability and LEED consulting firm with offices in Guam and Houston, Texas, as its LEED Accredited Professional.

In line with this vision is Filinvest City’s further enhancement of its future-ready masterplan through the guidance of renowned design firm AECOM Singapore, evident in its introduction of multiple innovative green features. At the core of this transformation is the “green belt” aptly called the Spectrum Midway Linear Park, a foliage-canopied walkway that spans across the north and south ends of the CBD. Filinvest City also takes pride in its bike lanes, which are purposely built and integrated in the sidewalk. Already in place as well is a thriving bird habitat, a living creek, a bike trail, and tree-canopied road networks.

Filinvest City, with all these advancements, sets out to be the first masterplanned development in the country to pursue the up-to-date and more stringent LEED version four of Neighborhood Development (ND)-Plan certification, with only two other developments in the world – in Japan and Italy – bearing this coveted recognition.

Projects pursuing LEED certification earn points across several areas that address sustainability issues – among them location and transportation, sustainable sites, water efficiency, and energy and atmosphere – providing independent verification of the green features of a particular building or neighborhood in the key areas of design, construction, operations, and maintenance.

In the LEED ND rating system, the major prerequisites and credits considered are categorized as Smart Location and Linkage (SLL), which considers transit accessibility, ecosystems and open spaces, and jobs and housing proximity; Neighborhood Pattern and Design (NPD) which looks into walkable streets, neighborhood connections, parking and transportation demand, among others; and Green Infrastructure and Buildings (GIB) that review such characteristics as energy efficiency and conservation,

energy production and distribution, water efficiency and conservation, green building process, heat islands, and light pollution.

Filinvest City deliberately takes all these into account as it continuously aims to fuse the needs of the people, nature, and commerce, making it one of the most progressive green neighborhood developments in the metro. According to Dean Barone of Barone International, Filinvest City has embodied the principles of smart growth with walkable streets and an inviting mix of trees and development to foster a sense of community for over twenty years.

Aside from proactively embracing green initiatives, the masterplan for Filinvest City encourages transportation alternatives, and preservation of sensitive lands – all aimed at benefitting the public as a whole. The development emphasizes vibrant, equitable communities that are healthy, walkable and of mixed-use. Moreover, Filinvest City also promotes the construction and design of sustainable, energy, and water efficient structures.

Simply put, its green features were put in place for the ultimate benefit of residents and locators, all towards the goal of making Filinvest City an ideal community, one that is balanced and eco-sustainable – providing for a meaningful contribution to a greener economy.

Empowering the Filipina with #AhonPinay

Ahon Pinay is an advocacy that celebrates the modern-day heroine in every Filipina, aiming to eliminate boundaries in gender professional capabilities and to open dialogue on issues women face in their respective industries.

Various groups have already put gender equality under the spotlight. Among them are Philippine Commission on Women (PCW) and the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) which have adopted the theme “Kapakanan ni Juana, Isama sa Agenda!” (Include Women in the Agenda) and have already actively called for gender-balance in leadership and decision making positions in public and private sector.

LOCAL EFFORTS

In partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) of the Philippines, Ariel through its #AhonPinay campaign, have recently signed an agreement to implement a program that will empower women in the workplace, particularly in the technical-vocation (tech-voc) sector. The TESDA-Ariel partnership will enable the implementation of evening classes for competency-based training in several tech-voc courses that are traditionally male-dominated like Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Plumbing, Automotive Servicing and Electrical Installation and Maintenance, which are in-demand jobs in the country and abroad. Apart from challenging themselves by taking on these tasks, these women are also trained to aim for a better finanacial future for their families. To date, this partnership has churned out 37 graduates of highly skilled Filipinas, and aims to reach a total of 60 graduates by end of 2017.

Recognizing that chores can be done by anyone, Ariel also rolled out the #JuanWash campaign which is targeted towards men. Its goal is straightforward and goes right into the heart of the matter – to get men to do their share of laundry duties, one wash at a time. For Ariel men, this goes beyond simply doing the laundry, as it also shows their support to their wives, and moulds their children into understanding the equal role of men and women in doing the household chores.

Launched online last September 1, 2017, the #JuanWash campaign not only celebrated those men who have done their part of laundry duties, but also dedicated Fridays as #JuanWash days. Considering that most Filipino households do their laundry twice a week, getting men to do the laundry once a week means doing their equal share of the load. By getting men to do the laundry at least once a week, Ariel hopes to transform them into laundry experts with the help from Ariel Power Gel that’s especially formulated for better stain removal with just one wash.

In partnership with Eat Bulaga, Ariel also scoured through many different barangays in Metro Manila to find Juan Washers every Friday. This put the spotlight on individual Juan Washers, and showcased how valuable their role is in further pushing gender equality in the family and in the community. In so doing, Ariel Men all over the Philippines were able to collect 10,000 laundry hours in just one month, which represents the number of hours freed up for the women in their lives

To celebrate this feat, Ariel handed over the 10,000 laundry hours to the Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), represented by their Chief of Corporate Affairs and Information Resource Management Division, Ms. Honey Castro, as a symbolic gift to women, while emphasizing Ariel’s support for gender equality in the household.

OTHER INTERNATIONAL EFFORTS

In Vietnam, Ariel partnered with the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) and Saigon Coop, a local supermarket chain to support female initiatives. For this leg, the Rise Women campaign provided a grant to winning women awardees in various fields to acknowledge their contributions. Many outstanding women from diverse sectors such as agriculture, scientific, and industrial were lauded.

Ariel India, P&G, and BBDO Worldwide showed how fathers and husbands can take small steps, such as doing laundry, to create more equal homes through the #ShareTheLoad campaign, which won a ‪Glass Lion award at the 2015 Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity. While the TV commercial for this has gone viral, the real win is the way the campaign’s message is geared towards changing stereotypes and showing the value of supporting gender equality. All the aforementioned campaigns are hinged on P&G’s #WeSeeEqual campaign that seek to push the boundaries on gender equality and women empowerment.‬‬‬‬

How Sulit Is Your Baby’s Diaper?

All moms just want the best for their babies. So when it comes to diaper, we want them to stay comfortable while playing and of course while sleeping. Did you know how Sulit is your baby's diaper? Here's your Checklist to SAVE on diapers while still giving your child the best!

While there are many things that moms can scrimp on, their baby’s well-being isn’t one of them.

Since babies will constantly be in diapers for their first years of their life, moms will be spending a lot of money on them. It’s important to choose the right diaper that is not only best for baby, but offers moms exceptional value.

Not all diapers are made equal. Even when all of them promise the same key feature of effective absorbency, very few actually live up to it or are able to offer more. Needless to say, picking one out from the sea of brands available can be more challenging than you can ever imagine. So how do you choose the best one and make sure that you’re actually getting your money’s worth?

Check out our checklist on finding the most sulit disposable diaper for your little one:

Does it offer exceptional absorbency?

A diaper’s absorption level measures how much liquid it can hold and how well it will be able to wick the liquid away from your baby’s skin. Diapers that assure good absorption should be able to quickly absorb and lock in the wetness throughout the diaper’s core. This will help prevent your baby’s skin from being exposed to persistent moisture, which typically leads to rashes.

To check which diapers holds up to its promise of exceptional absorbency, you can do a torture test and pour the same amount of liquid in two different diapers. The diaper which is drier to the touch offer better absorption.

Is it ideal for your baby’s size?

Diaper sizing conventions are based on babies’ weight. However, like most clothes, sizing from brand to brand can vary, and so does baby’s fit on these diapers.

Ultimately, finding the right fit involves a lot of trial and error and adjusting. Given this, it’s important to have key features such as stretchy tapes that help adjust to your baby’s shape and movement for superior fit and comfort. For babies 6 months and older, since they are more active, you can look for diapers in pants form that offer features such as elastic waistbands that help adjust to baby’s weight and movement. As a bonus, pants with easy-on and easy-tear off benefits will help make changing a breeze, so babies get uninterrupted playtime.

At such a young age, your baby’s skin is very sensitive. It’s important therefore to look for diapers that come in ultra soft and gentle materials that will not irritate your baby’s skin. It may be good to avoid materials that have a plastic feel. Remember that your newborn will essentially be wearing this round-the-clock—so comfort and safety are two elements that you really have to consider.

Does it offer more savings in the long run?

Moms may often try to strike a balance between the cost of an item and its perceived quality, choosing to sacrifice some quality if it means it will lead to more savings. But choosing the best diaper for your child doesn’t have to come with a hefty price tag. In fact, the opposite may be true. High quality diapers may end up saving moms more in the long run.

When computing for how much a diaper really costs, don’t just check the price of one pad of diaper. Higher quality diapers may be more expensive, but they offer exceptional absorbency, which means moms need to change less often and use fewer diapers in a day. This means moms actually save more because they purchase less diapers!  It is much more accurate to compute cost of diapers monthly because it reflects how much diapers you actually use, and how much you save from having less frequent changes.

Not only does a higher quality diaper allow you to use less pads, it also offers more protection against irritation and rashes. A lower quality diaper may make the child feel unwell and uncomfortable, making parents end up taking extra, usually expensive measures to nurse him or her back to health.

Parents are often faced with the challenging choice of which product will provide the best value without compromising quality and comfort. Pampers ensures superior quality with 12-hours of overnight dryness to help give baby a good night sleep and protection from diaper rash. In fact, Pamper Baby Dry can last longer than 2 ordinary diapers overnight, which means you’re not only ensuring your baby’s comfort, you’re also ultimately, saving more money in the long run.

New Laundry Experts! Ariel Men Push for Gender Equality with #JuanWash

Because stain removal knows no gender!

In Filipino households, doing the laundry is traditionally seen as a woman's sole responsibility. Thanks to the shift in people's mindsets, aided by Ariel's progressive #JuanWash campaign, that backwards thinking will soon be a thing of the past.

Recognizing that chores can be done by anyone, Ariel rolled out the #JuanWash campaign which is targeted towards men. Its goal is straightforward and goes right into the heart of matter - to get men to their share of laundry duties, one wash at a time. For Ariel men, this goes beyond simply doing the laundry, as it also shows their support to their wives, and moulds their children into understanding the equal role of men amd women in doing the household chores.

During the Grand Celebration of Ariel Men #JuanWash Bash!

As the first detergent to invite men to do their part of the housework, Ariel assembled several celebrity #JuanWash ambassadors. Among them is professional basketball player, JC Intal, supported by his wife Bianca Gonzales-Intal, as well as actor John Prats, supported by his wife Isabel Oli-Prats.

"The new Ariel Man is more confident and more responsible when it comes to raising his family", explains JC Intal. More and more Juan Washers all over the country are raising up to do their share of the laundry duties, and it's a call to arms that expresses what it means to be the modern man of the house. "Ang Ariel Man ay makabago at progresibo. Ang totoong macho ay tumutulong sa mga gawaing bahay to serve as good male role models for the kids,"  adds John Prats.

Local personalities Kean Cipriano, James Deakin, Ali Khatibi, Marco Alcaraz, Sam Adjani and Anton Del Rosario are also active #JaunWash supporters. Theae Juan Washers use Ariel Power Gel which makes superior cleaning effortless so they can easily help out at home.

Launched online last September 1, 2017, the #JuanWash campaign not only celebrated those men who have done their part of laundry duties, but also dedicayedw Fridays as #JuanWash days. Considering that most Filipino households do their laundry twice a week, getting men to do the laundry once a week means doing their equal share of the load. In partnership with Eat Bulaga, Ariel alspw scoured through many different barangays in Metro Manila to find Juan Washers every Friday. This put the spotlight on individual Juan Washers, and showcased how valuable their role is in further pushing gender equality in the family and in the community. In so doing, Ariel Men all over the Philippines were able to collect 10,000 laundry hours in just one month, which represents the number of hours freed up for the women in their lives.

To celebrate this feast, Ariel handed over the 10,000 laundry hours tobthe Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), represented by their
Chief of Corporate Affairs anr Information Resource Management Division, Ms.Honey Castro, as a symbolic gift to women, while emphasizing Ariel's support for gender equality in the household. This aims to inspire and encourage more men to do their share of the load.

"The Philippine Commission on Women (PCW), the lead agency that champions gender equality and Women's empowerment, welcomes this initiative of Ariel Philippines in breaking the gender stereotype that housework is only women's work," shares PCW Executw Director Emmeline L. Verzosa. She adds, "We are glad that the private sector and advertising agencies have now joined the campaign in promoting the value of shared household and parenting responsibilities among female and male family members. Through such male role models, comlaniew are able to educate the public about more positive masculinities. Gender equality should begin at home."

Ariel's #JuanWash campaign comes at a crucial time for Filipino families, whose lifestyles continue to evolve, especially with the rise in dual-income homes and an increasingly progressive cultural landscape that puts equal value in the time of women and men. Accordw to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA), formerly known as the National Statistical Coordination Board (NSCB), Filipino men are getting more involved in household work, with men alloting an average of 5 hours working on chores in the year 2000 compared to the average of 1.87 hours in 1979. The trend is expected to continue to increase as traditiw gender roles shift.

"More than providing superior clean and better stain removal with our innovative liquid detergent, Ariel is a brand that prides itself in being a part of the progressive Filipino home. With Ariel #JuanWash, we want to shed light on the importance of gender equality in and out of home, as well all work together towards a more progressive country and a more equal world", shares Louie Morante, Regional Brand Communications for P&G ASEAN Fabric and Home Care.

The #JuanWash campaign supports P&G's #WeSeeEqual global advocacy, and forms part of Ariel Philippines'#AhonPinay movement which continues to push the boundaries on gender equality and women empowerment. To date, Ariel has an ongoing partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to provide women with training in commonly male-dominated fields. These trainings are envisioned to give these women more equal job opportunities in these fields.

New Culture of Work in PH Needed to Succeed in Digital Transformation

Microsoft Study finds that 1 in 2 Filipino workers expect their organizations to invest in culture development and 47% expect leaders to close the digital skills gap

Philippines, September 29, 2017 -  The changing face of the workforce in the Philippines has resulted in a need for organizations to foster a new culture of work to achieve digital transformation success, a Microsoft Study has concluded. In fact, half of the respondents polled felt that more can be done by their organizations to invest in culture development.

The Study found the following factors influencing the culture of work in the Philippines today:

Increasingly mobile workforce and exposure to new security risks: The rise of mobility and proliferation of mobile and cloud technologies have resulted in individuals working across multiple locations and devices. In fact, the Study found that only 21% of respondents are spending all of their work hours in the office, and 81% of respondents are working off personal smartphones. The latter raises new security challenges for organizations.

The rise of diverse teams: The Study found that 29% of workers in the Philippines are already working in more than 10 teams at any one point in time. With the BPO industry being significant in the country, more workers are working with different and even virtual teams from different locations. This makes the availability of real-time insights and collaboration tools crucial to get work done.

Gaps in employees’ digital skills even as leaders are in the motion of embracing digital transformation: As the bar is raised with new technologies adopted across industries, deployment is uneven. In fact, 47% of respondents feel that more can be done to bridge the digital skills gap among workers.

Microsoft COO/CMM Cian O'Neil presenting the new culture of work in the Philippine during the Microsoft 365 launch

Said Cian O’Neill, Microsoft Philippines COO and CMO: “The rise of digital technologies, along with a new generation of millennials entering the workforce, has brought about a need to address changing workers’ expectations, knowledge and skills, as well as the tools they use. And with more than half of the world’s millennials residing in Asia, the workplace will need to transform to adapt to the technology habits of these digital natives. In addition, due to deployment of advanced and emerging technologies, organizations need to relook at reskilling its workforce to develop creative and strategic skills for the future.”

Addressing a new culture of work for digital transformation success
Even as 86% of business leaders in the Philippines acknowledge the need to transform into a digital business in order to succeed, people are ultimately the main drivers of digital transformation.

“People are at the heart of digital transformation. Their expectations, knowledge and skills, as well as the tools they use for work, are determining factors in the level of transformation that any organization can achieve. The challenge that they face now is how to implement new ways to foster a modern culture of work to better empower Asia’s workers, especially those at the frontline. By estimates, there are two billion firstline workers globally, and make up majority of our workforce today,” said Bertand Launay, Microsoft Philippines Managing Director.

Today, firstline workers serve as the first point of contact between companies and the rest of the world - first to engage customers, represent brand, and see products and services in action.
To unlock the potential of employees, organizations need to address and elevate their workforce, especially firstline workers, through addressing the core values of the new culture of work:

•Unlocking employees’ creativity
Collaboration fuels innovation through sharing of ideas and enables flexibility in how people work through a connected experience, while working seamlessly across devices. However, the Study found that majority of respondents feel restricted in the way they work today, with 64% highlighting that they needed to be physically present in office as equipment or tools used for their line of work is only available in the workplace.

•Fuelling teamwork
By equipping all workers with a universal toolkit for collaboration, organizations offer its people choice and ownership as to how they work together and collaborate in real-time. In fact, the Study found that one in two workers highlighted that access to technology for collaboration such that they can respond in a timely manner to internal and external requests was important in their line of work.

•Strengthening Security
Today, 74% of respondents are working on employer-issued PCs, but 81% are also working on personal smartphones, which underscores potential security risks. In fact, 76% of respondents admitted to checking personal emails on company-issued devices, and are doing so for convenience sake. Therefore, leaders need to strengthen their security not to put organization’s confidential data at risk to address the need for workers to work without barriers and without impeding productivity.

•Bringing Simplicity
With the rise of apps, devices, services and security risks in the workplace, there is a need to streamline the IT management, break down service siloes so that disparate data can be combined and reasoned in new ways and reduce complexity. In fact, a Microsoft Asia Pacific IT leaders study found that 61% of ITDMs from the market agreed that there is a need to reduce complexity of managing their existing IT security portfolio.

Technology is key for firstline workers to become an integral part of digital transformation success

“We believe that every worker – from the factory floor to the front desk, to the executive boardroom – can contribute to an organization’s collective endeavours. It is our view that involving firstline workers in digital transformation will drive unprecedented opportunity – for workers, the organizations that they work for, and the industries and society at large,” added O’Neill.  “At Microsoft, we see the opportunities that can be unlocked with technology by equipping firstline workers with the right tools, such as Microsoft 365. Ultimately, digital transformation projects can only succeed if the right tools are in place for workers to leverage and maximize upon.”

Microsoft Philippines  STU Ryan Manalastas giving a demo on the five important Microsoft 365 Security and Productivity Features

Microsoft has announced the expansion of Microsoft 365, including Microsoft 365 F1, which provides purpose-built capabilities that help foster firstline culture and community, train and upskill employees, digitize business process, deliver real-time expertise, and minimize risk and cost. New intelligent search capabilities, a vision for intelligent communications centring on Microsoft Teams, and security and IT management enhancements to help customers stay secure and compliant were also introduced at Ignite:

•Microsoft 365 F1 brings together Office 365, Windows 10, and Enterprise
Mobility + Security to empower the more than two billion firstline workers worldwide, who serve as the first point of contact between a company and its customers, or who are directly involved in making products.

•Introducing a new vision for intelligent communications, including plans to bring Skype for Business Online capabilities into Microsoft Teams, along with cognitive and data services, making Teams the true hub for teamwork in Office 365, including persistent chat, voice and video.

•Intelligent search experiences use AI and machine learning to deliver more relevant search results everywhere you search across Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 is delivering improved Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) features like enhanced anti-phishing capabilities, expanded protection to SharePoint Online, OneDrive for Business, and Microsoft Teams and integration between cloud and on premises identity threat detection capabilities.

Modernizing firstline workforce with Microsoft Cloud
For organizations still on Office 2007, end of support will happen on 11 October. Customers who are still using Office 2007 products and services are encouraged to move to Office 365 or Microsoft 365 to stay supported, and ensure uninterrupted support from Microsoft.

O’Neill said: “With cloud-based productivity tools being a key pick among Asia’s mobile workers to drive greater collaboration among teams, we urge organizations to take the opportunity to evaluate Microsoft 365 as an option to modernize their workforce.”

Sports Barbers SM Mall of Asia: A Stylish Destination for the Male Grooming Generation

With pompadours on the rise, man-buns making its way on
the street, perfectly trimmed beards and facial hair making an
appearance, it’s safe to say that male grooming is finally
getting the attention it deserves.

But while men will admittedly make more effort by way of
aesthetics, the process of getting the right look still prompts
them to demand the simplicity and straightforwardness of
traditional barbershops.

“Most women like being whisked away to a secluded world
of pampering for their beauty treatments. The same can’t be
said for men—most guys expect an efficient and clear-cut
service—but not at the expense of style,” explains Arvin
Amaro, Marketing Head of Sports Barbers Barbershop.

This gave way to a new breed of barbershops—one that
delivers the kind of service that they expect; one that
essentially gives a modern take on an old classic. And while
there have been a few cropping up here and there, none have
been more accessible or as successful in providing the stylish
sense that today’s grooming generation seeks than Sports
Barbers.

With 13 branches all over the country, Sports Barbers
recreates the traditional concept of your go-to
neighbourhood barbershop and offers a destination that is
modern and stylish yet stays true to what men have been
used to.

Its ambience and service, strongly anchored on its team’s
ability to provide everything from on-trend cuts to classic
styles, is a compelling reminder of inherent masculine
values—adventure, straightforwardness, humour and at the
end of the day, natural good looks (as opposed to self-
conscious preening).

The entire concept of Sports Barbers is to deliver the best
cuts for clients, inspired by traditional hairstyles and the most
stylish men. The brand’s crop of barber-stylists, a term
derived from the fusion of Vidal Sassoon trained cutting and
styling mixed with the efficient sensibilities of old-school
barbers, mean clients can confidently step into any branch
and emerge looking as dapper and effortlessly good as they
can be.

“The idea is to create a go-to destination for men where they
can expect the reliable, time-honoured techniques of
traditional barbering and yet know they are in the hand of
people who will be able to tell the difference between a short
sides with brush top versus buzz crop or a pompadour
versus a slick back,” ends Amaro.

Sports Barbers Barbershop has locations in UP Town
Center, Ayala Fairview Terraces, SM Clark, SM Southmall,
SM Bacoor, SM Bicutan, SM Cebu, SM Bacolod and its
newest brand SM Mall of Asia.

“We strive to bring reliable and fast services, but also connect with our customers—it’s a very personal grooming procedure, after all, and we are dedicated to making customers happy and comfortable. Clients expect quality service, superior treatments and affordable prices but not at the expense of a warm and comfortable environment—and that’s exactly what we have waiting for them here,” explains Arvin A. Amaro, Hey Sugar’s Marketing Head.

At the end of the day, everyone deserves some sugar…and there’s no better place to get it than by heading to Hey Sugar! SM Marikina.

Nailaholics Nail Salon and Spa Celebrates the 2nd Year of National Pampering Day

When it comes to pampering on a national scale, Nailaholics Nail Salon and Spa holds the only spot. After introducing the celebration of the National Pampering Day last year, Nailaholics is back at it again this 2017 with an amplified nationwide celebration of relaxation that everyone is looking forward to this October 17.

The National Pampering Day got off to a good start last year where Nailaholics offered free manicure service and a stress relieving hand massage from 10 AM to 12 NN on all their branches nationwide. This year, everyone will be treated to a free service of their choice: a soothing manicure, calming foot spa or a relaxing foot massage.

“We Filipinos are very hardworking in any given aspect of our lives and a nation of energetic and industrious people best deserves real pampering once in a while. This year, as Nailaholics celebrates the 2nd National Pampering Day, we go deeper and dedicate this to everyone and remind them to take it slow, take it easy, zone out and relax for a while.” said Arvin Amaro, Marketing Head of Nailaholics Nail Salon and Spa.

“With last year’s success of the National Pampering Day, we are back this year with a bigger and much more enjoyable day of pampering. In partnership with the number one salon brand and most beloved nail lacquer brand in the world, O.P.I., National Pampering Day 2017 will accommodate more guests with the extension of pampering time until 1PM.  Also, the best thing about this year’s National Pampering Day is that it will be in support to World Vision, The Philippine Animal Welfare Society (PAWS), and Save Philippine Seas” added Amaro.

So save the date and get ready to park away any thoughts of work because the only responsibility you have is to loosen up. Wind down and head down to any Nailaholics Nail Salon and Spa branch on October 17, 2017 (Tuesday) from 10 AM to 1 PM and get yourself a free relaxing manicure, foot spa or foot massage.

Let Nailaholics’ skilled nail technicians take care of you for a little while and walk out of this Hamptons-inspired nail salon feeling refreshed and ready to bring it on again. Grab this once a year treat only at the country’s top destination for relaxation and real pampering.

Visit www.nailaholics.com to check their services and find the branch nearest you. Get updates through their Facebook Page Nailaholics Nail Salon and Spa, Twitter @_nailaholics and Instagram @_nailaholics.
