Buried Alive and Fast

time runs firmly,
he neither waits nor hurry.
the grave is waiting.
oh dead! come and lay in me.
death grabs every possibilities,
to give pain, to give ache.
people are like mammoths,
they merely touch a soft chilli...
This might sound too depressing for someone on vacation mode, but this is one way of letting go. Letting bad things go. This is actually for Southern Leyte land/mudslide incident way back 2006. I don't have any relatives or friends in that area but my heart really was broken and my spirit shaken because of this event. I was mortified. This is for the students of a local elementary school in Saint Bernard located on the foot of the mountain ridge. This is now also for those lost lives in Yolanda's wrath.
The poem is hanging there, not complete. Just like the inevitable stop of their dreams and lives. But do not lose all hope, there's a strand of light, a strand of hope waiting for those faithfully waiting. Wait for the resurrection, it will come.

Kiehl's Ultra Facial Overnight Hydrating Masque

Since this failed me big time, I switch to this.
image
Masque - that's a hint for me that this will somewhat become a film overnight on top of my face.
This looks like just any other moisturizing cream for me that treats dry skin overnight, until it forms a film - thin, clear and shiny. This makes the hydration more efficient as it effectively traps the moisture to the skin instead of just smearing my pillow, bedsheet and my baby's head, plus it's so gentle it didn't irritate my skin. he he
Some may feel discomfort about the feel of the film on the skin but I think you'll get used to it especially after waking up and rinsing yourself in the morning to a more fresh, "juicy" face, right? I just wish it comes in a tube and not a tub, as it is more hygienic and easier product control. :)
kiehls
This tub equals hydrated younger looking skin overnight! It's worth a try! Head over to your nearest Kiehl's store and ask for a sample like this. :)

Food Trip: Big City

gerilen 313
Big City serves hotdogs, sausages and burgers grilled to perfection complete with sauces and fries and a wall of world's tallest buildings

gerilen 314
The star of our table and my artistic way to dip my fries. :P
image
A swish of mayo, mustard and ketchup swirled together just like Picasso.

Yum! The burgers are big. The beef smells and tastes like real grilled angus - if you know what I mean. The wedge fries are crunchy on the outside, soft in the insides.
You could ask for a fork and knife or go all the way finger-licking-style, err, using a plastic glove. ;)

Book: Talk Back and You're Dead

James Reid. Nadine Lustre. Ring a bell? Well, this is not the film, it's the book. "Talk Back and You're Dead is a 2014 Filipino teen romcom about a girl falling hard on a gangsta.

Alessa Marie is a Wattpad writer, and "Talk Back and You're Dead!" is one of the successful wattpad stories turned to book.

The tag-lish (tagalog-english)book is for high schoolers, but I read it anyway. It's my first time to read a tagalog novel - as this is described. It's kinda cheesy, full of cussing cursing and gang brawling, and there are certain boring flashback parts for me. The Crazy Trio jokes are sometimes corny for my likings but what makes me read it from cover to cover were Miracle's description of Top. The last parts of the book were my favorite as JG and Kuya Lee's pressure on the two lovebirds kept me on the edge of my seat. ;)

Will definitely look forward to Book two! Bring it on!

I'm excited to watch the movie! I still haven't seen it yet.

Food Trip: Under The Tree Book Cafe, Governor Pack Road, Baguio City

We've been walking back and forth on Governor Pack Road searching for a cafe. Silly me didn't realize that all I have to do was ask. Don't fret, I stand in front of Andoks Chicken and looked up. Guess what? I saw this.
gerilen 131
I've been living here for more than a decade. I walk this street for 5 years every day, and it's my first time to look up. Yes, its my first time to learn about Book Cafe. The entrance was quite hard to find. I had to ask a local. ;)
gerilen 162
On our way there, I looked up and saw that sign up there. I'm half way there. I'm literally been looking for a tree because I know it's under it - excuse myself being the silly cat. I totally can't read the sign below, but I have a hunch it says along the lines of "Under the Tree" and/or "Book Cafe", don't you think?

gerilen 163
The wooden stairs going up look old school - just the way I like it. This is certainly part of the old Baguio. :)

My dates for that lazy afternoon - the Jersons of my life. Hehe

The opposite side of the wall was full of post-it/sticky notes
gerilen 184
gerilen 167

and Book Cafe members.
